I tend to delve into life conversations. You know, finances, health, cost of living š . TC: 130k South Florida
Yes. Treat your driver like a human being not your serf. And they donāt need your āwisdomā. Your ālife conversationsā are likely condescending as fuck to most drivers.
I wait for them to start talking to me. Usually if they want to talk, they need a listening ear to voice out something that's bothering them. Be the ear. Some of them won't speak because they've had a rough day. In that case, let them have their silence.
I'll usually ask "how's your day been so far?" and take their response as a cue on whether or not they want to talk.
I usually like my rides to be in silence but Iāll make light conversation if theyāre friendly. Or Iāll continue a conversation if Iām concerned about my safety - Iāve had a few really creepy drivers that were way too interested in intimate details in my life.
I said no because 80% of the time I do. But there are a few times where Iāll have some real conversations with them.
I drive Uber, and 90% of people are curious about how much do I make. We get it, you want to feel good that you make more money than a random person, but at least give me a tip after knowing that I am barely making minimum wages.
No we simply might be asking because we actually want to know why lots of people are getting in it and secondly to know if you're doing fine and the business is sustainable
Most people ask because they think Uber drivers make as much as engineers.
Sometimes, but ive had a few occasions (on Lyft) where i wished i hadn't encouraged it. One driver decided to lay into me and tell me I was selfish for not having any children (im female)
I usually talk to them, theyāre human just like you and I. Maybe itās just how I am socially as I donāt find it challenging or anything.
Yes. I even referred one of my drivers to a better job at Uber.
Once I super hot chick In hot pants picked me up.. i spoke to her. Usually i dont.
