Which do you prefer? Consider: - Should companies copy FB's approach or G's? - Is this difference a factor if you get offers from FB and G? **To clarify the poll options: FB's bootcamp is after start date, not just after offer**
Facebook’s way made me nervous. It kinda makes me feel that I didn’t make it yet and that there’s going to be another round of interviews. And, since I left my previous company, there’s no backup plan if I don’t get matched with a team.
The problem is that all of FB's teams are bad. But you can choose.
Picking a team in the end of Facebook’s bootcamp- it has to be mutual, right? Are there anecdotes of new hires not being accepted by teams?
Bootcamp isn't a second interview. It's mutual mostly in the sense that the team decides looking at your profile whether they want to reach out to you. Also, there's a huge supply-demand imbalance. There are a lot more openings than bootcampers.
Do Facebook teams get to see your interview notes and such? Or are all those things kept within the hiring committee?
With the amount of posts here with people waiting in team matching queue with Google, it’s no brainer.
There's no question. One pays you to match and the other doesn't.
It's funny someone even asks it. It's obvious - Facebook approach is better for employees, Google approach is better for the company
It's obvious from the poll results! Haha
