The only reason Iβve heard that makes sense to is: it makes it more comfortable for someone that uses non traditional pronouns to introduce themselves.
I think thatβs a fair enough and I can empathize with that but I still choose not to do it because it is nonsense.
@amazombi the idea behind βpronouns in bioβ is that a lot of people would view correcting you as an awkward thing to do. In a world where checking someoneβs pronouns or using neutral language is more normalized, thatβs conversation that is more rarely necessary to have
You can say βNβ-word by the law. Itβs freedom of speech. You should also be able to name people in any way you want and donβt be punished by law.
Regarding C16, your point sounds like itβs OK to have a law violating free speech if you can violate that law But itβs not how laws suppose to work β people should obey the law, otherwise anarchy starts. The only reason to introduce the law that is not enforced is to enforce it later against specific people, such as your political opponents. In this case it does not serve its purpose of being a rule society follows, but it becomes a weapon in the hands of particular group.
Look, Iβm from the country that lost millions during WWII. I hate fascism, but I cannot supporting banning this ideology. Because freedom of speech is binary β either you have it, or you donβt. If you start limiting it, you may extends these limits indefinitely. And then you end up in the state where people die in jail for saying something inappropriate. My country lost millions of people because of that as well.
Iβm not saying the law isnβt enforced. The law isnβt enforced the way you think it is. I was born in America but also grew up in a country ravaged by WWII, but I suspect a different one from you. I love freedom of speech and I think itβs one of the greatest freedoms we have. But freedom of speech doesnβt grant you the freedom to yell fire in a crowded theatre. Freedom of speech doesnβt grant you freedom from consequences. Freedom of speech doesnβt grant you freedom to discriminate in harmful and dangerous ways. Restricting a freedom by some quantity N can also allow (if done correctly) another freedom to be expressed by some quantity >=N. A law restricting people in positions of power from discriminating against trans people below them can be a restriction on those peoples freedom of speech, but it unlocks a greater freedom for trans people to be able to participate to a greater extent in society.
IDK about you, but I donβt need corporate profile to establish human relationships. The benefit of that is that I can meet people outside of my work. Business profile is for doing business. Thatβs why itβs called βbusinessβ.
@spceghost I get what you're saying but you're wrong. Even though an alternate reality can exist where your actions can be primarily interpreted as you present them, this is not that reality. In this reality you are just being a 'useful idiot' (see wikipedia) for an ideology that you do not understand.

It's a trivial thing to do that in no way inconveniences me, but is likely beneficial to others, so what's the harm in doing it?
