Some of my friend mentioned they have to sign in offer letter to pay h1b / I140 money to employer if he leave before 4 yrs. is it illegal employer asking money to pay for visa / green card processing?
Damn no! Seems shady
Is it Desi consulting company? Then it's possible
It’s SAP and other big non consulting company
I am pretty certain that you should report them to USCIS with evidence.
SAP doesn't do this. STFU. SAP asks you to pay back the green card fees if you leave before getting the GC. This is legal. H1B is not. And also, I have heard that SAP doesn't enforce this policy as per previous employees.
It is illegal for the employer to ask the employee for the application fees of H1 and I-140 and PERM. I-485 is your application and not the sponsor’s. The sponsor is not required to pay for 485. That being said, however, the employer can ask you to pay for lawyer fees. There’s no law that prohibits the sponsor from that. And lawyers charge quite a bit for H1 and especially GC.
lawyer fee ? Amount?
It is illegal to ask the beneficiary to pay H1B application fee. Possibly the same for i140, but I am not sure.
No it's illegal.
You shady people are the root cause of huge backlog for India. You guys fill the queue with trash applications, denying other law abiding high skilled indians their rights.
Hahaha...MaGa spotted
My friend is a doctor. He is still EB2. From his perspective, all software engineers shouldn't qualify for EB2. You think you are high skilled just because you work at FB? Blame US laws for not having merit based immigration. Not people who are using it.
