Is it too early to get panicked ? Are companies like Uber, Lyft, Airbnb prepared to handle the new variant if incase there are lockdowns and flight ban ? Offers from Uber, Microsoft Uber TC: 230k cad Microsoft TC: 185k cad I’m an immigrant with work visa and still waiting for my PR so have a visa risk if there was any other layoff. Also what are the chances of the new offers getting rescinded from Uber ? #uber #lyft #microsoft #airbnb #amazon #tech #covid
Yes Edit: Uber and Lyft, whether we lockdown again or not bound to lose money. Gig economy wouldn't work! They need to diversify to survive otherwise they're just doomed!
Microsoft also?
Not MSFT, we got 2x busier in cloud due to COVID pushing businesses remote. All teams suddenly feel understaffed across the board, tons of opportunities, haven't heard of anyone getting let go but many teams I worked alongside doubled their staff and still have openings
.
ABNB yes since they just like to lay off people for fun. The others, I don’t know. Overall I doubt omicron will have much impact.
Looks like someone got laid off from airbnb
Nah they won’t even interview me lmao
Is this post for real?
The bigger question is will you and I survive this virus and it’s future cousins?
I can survive as i am vaccinated, i wear mask and sanitize myself frequently and i limit myself from going out unless it’s required.
Lol. No one knows if the vaccines will work for this or it’s future cousins.
Probably but not as bad as before since they are already low staffed and now know how to run the business with covid.
Depends if it voids vaccines or not and if it is more deadly.
Nothing happened with Delta. Doubt omicron will lead to this
That is because vaccines work against it.
a quick Google search says it does for omicron too
The real problem is you thinking of Uber as a stable place regardless of Omnicron.
Damn, burn!
Being unprofitable, I understand they are not very stable yet. But they have much room to grow and get better. Being on visa is the only risk i have with them, else i would have joined them for all other aspects.
Your thoughts?
I think we are offering you too much. Better take the MSFT offer
