Do you think FB has bad WLB ?
I personally find FB to be more stressful and has bad WLB, especially considering the fact that there are companies with equal pay and better WLB. (eg: Google, LinkedIn etc.) But I have nothing to compare against, as this is my first job. However, when I post in the FB internal group, many people don’t agree with me. Their main argument is given the pay it’s not unreasonable for it to be stressful and there are a lot of companies that pay way less and are way more stressful. So posting here so that former FB guys can vote as well. Do you think FB has bad WLB/high stress ? (Current and former FB engineers only please)
if the poll is only for fb engineers, why not post this in the fb channel? Anyone can vote here. You will get people voting who have not been at the company.

thats true. I would also like to see the results. But lots of trolling on blind, especially on polls.
Why are you stressed? Does anyone ask you to work more than the normal amount?

Stress is in your mind. I worked in a few companies. And FB has the most amount of work of them all.

Not the most hectic. At least there are overall direction and metrics to give you guidance on what to do. Extra work is created from thrash due to lack of good engineering practices. There is so much legacy crap that some xfn added years ago now you need to make sure you don't break when rolling out you feature. All that extra work just adds up.
