I typically tip fairly generously ~25% when there’s a driver for delivery, but I’m pretty inconsistent on when I do pick ups from a restaurant through DoorDash or just ordering ahead through the phone. What do you usually tip the restaurant if you’re just picking up? TC Tax: 425k YOE: 2.5
Don't order through doordash if you're doing pickup, they still take a cut. Order from the restaurant's website.
yeah I def try to do that but a lot of places actually don’t have websites. It’s out of convenience sometimes unfortunately because it’s just easier than calling and then not knowing when the food is ready
I think DD is a little better but I have a friends family who own a restaurant and they said Uber Eats take a 30% cut of the sale (not sure if that’s still accurate)
Why would I tip, I’m using my gas/electricity to get there?!
yeah that’s my thought but especially through covid it’s tough for businesses and a lot of us are in a position that an extra bit of money won’t hurt us that much. Just curious how people think about the matter
I only view it that way when I’m having it delivered. I give extra tip because drivers could use the money. But I can see it the way you view it too. Never thought it that way. 👍
Fuck I accidentally voted 25% and now people will think I’m as weird as OP

Is that TC for real with that YOE?
