Whats wrong with tipping?
I felt guilty about tipping only 20%, but now...
God forbid the company that hires people makes it fair.
I don't use Uber at all so don't have to deal with this. Don't use Lyft too.
This (t)ripping culture is ridiculous. All companies that employ full-time or near full-time contractors should compensate well or give some stock for every month of service. Making consumers feel guilty to tip is a bad business model.
I agree, but from my time at Google I can tell you contractor are not treated the best either unfortunately. Anyway agree, Uber (and Lyft) should pay the driver enough without relying on riders' tips
There’s gigantic buttons on the rate screen, I don’t see how they could improve it
Umm not tipping is assholish... most blinders make ridiculous TC and cheaping out on 5-10 bucks is just stupid
Blaming the user for not tipping is exactly what the companies want to do in order to reduce the need to pay drivers well. What is assolish is that you don't pay your employees well (same goes for restaurant). What is even more assolish? People like you that enforce the system and make this whole prehistoric tipping system survive. You are literally the reason that companies get away with paying shitty wages to their drivers//waiters
So you think being an a$$hole and not tipping will change the mind of companies that rely on this type of labor? You must not know economics than and how supply-demand works. There is so much supply of labor willing to work those jobs Taxi/Waiter etc that companies have no incentive to increase compensation hence tipping is a way for those workers to bridge the gap, still have a job, and be able to have a roof etc These companies could give 2 cents less whether you tip or not - they just want the cheap labor and are ok with a revolving door of employees coming and leaving
When Uber and Lyft came out, tipping was discouraged and purposely not a feature.
Hell nah
sudo rm -rf *tips*
No! Please don’t encourage the game theoretic social cancer that is tipping on Uber. If you’re going to tip, take it to Lyft!
What do you mean? How is lyft different when it comes to tipping? Please explain
I heard Uber takes a certain amount of the tips whereas all the tip goes to Lyft drivers
