Since AWS offers certifications, I was wondering if you are required to get a certification once you join as an employee of AWS. Is it weird to be an employee and not be certified? #career #tech #cerification #awscertification
Also no
No certs are useless and I usually think ppl who get em are low iq
???? Why so rude? I understand you don't need certs but it is certainly a nice way to verify your knowledge using standardized examinations.
My question was does aws make you get them once you join, not should I get one...
No. Certs generally show you can know/build applications using AWS services. But You join AWS to build those AWS services. There's a difference.
What about for BI or data engineer roles? If you are making reports for internal teams?
I dont know about those specific roles. But I don't think they will force you to.
Depends on the team/org you join in AWS. Solution Architects, TAMs, pro-serve consultants etc all have to be certified within X amount of days (basically all customer facing roles). If you're a SDE, I dont think they do if above posts are true.
Certifications are mainly for those who aren't engineers. Just learn things on the job.
No
And you're referring to AWS not Amazon right?
Yes
