I and many others have noticed for a while that facebook tends to advertise things based on convos youve had with people. Its one thing if they are using google search keywords, etc. But convos is another. My guess is that Siri or Echo or Google Home is being used to record convos and then those words are being shared with facebook I want to know, are they denying it because they are targeting ads using a third party provider or is this all random. Here is an article of someones witchhunt towards this theory https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/facebook-isnt-spying-us-ads-12362519
Had this happen a week ago. Was having a conversation with a friend and he mentioned FaZe Gaming Clan, which I've never heard of or Google'd before. 20 minutes later guess what ad I see pop up on my IG? Faze gaming clan. Never seen that ad since then but it was so specific that I've decided since then it's not a coincidence. We are definitely being listened in on
Have you given your phone’s microphone access to IG?
I just checked and apparently I have given it access. Probably for when I took videos. I disabled it now.
My friend mentioned about Lexus cars. Just a small discussion. I have not shopped /searched for cars for last many years. Buying a new car is not on my mind. Guess what I am getting Lexus ads all over YouTube, Gmail, websites everywhere. Google doesn’t it too.
All the stories are the same. You meet someone or talk with someone and you get ads based on what that person talks about. Do you really think they need to listen to the conversation?
We were talking on this last day .. and was trying out something .. not positive yet
Facebook and Google aren't listening on your conversation. After the recent budget cuts NSA started selling data to the ad networks Facebook and Google are on. 👽🛸
This is true for even phones themselves, not just personal assistant products. Instagram ads have been the worst. I’ve been driving talking with my wife (she is the passenger, not searching for any of what we are talking about) and her Instagram feed will pop up with exact ads for key words we mentioned, just minutes ago. No Apple Watch, Google, or Alexa products in the vehicle. This does not happen with my phone and voice input (I have microphone permissions revoked for most apps). But it does display content based on what I’ve only searched for in a PRIVATE Safari window, and only iMessages thread without being logged into anything in that browser. I find it “interesting” how: 1.) these controls don’t specify what activities the microphone is used for (allow for recording video in-app, deny for background monitoring / when screen locked) 2.) there are no further settings to secure text input for an already private safari window or iMessage thread (which should be COMPLETELY secure and not share between apps without a pop up similar to “leave Safari for App Store?”.
Private browsing is pretty easy to track. And iMessage can be read by Apple. What's surprising there?
Was that supposed to be a red herring? I’m asking why a subject I’ve only ever entered into an iMessage are appearing as an Instagram ad moments later. Not sure why that’s so hard to answer. By your explanation, it would mean Apple is forwarding the content of my messages to another platform; or the social media platform has access to iMessage. Only so many ways that can happen.
I think the answer is scarier than that they're listening. I think it's that they have enough data on you, on your friends, on your relationships, and life that they're making incredibly accurate guesses (along with less accurate guesses, but you only notice the ones that seem creepy, yeah?).
Conditioning the general public to write things off as coincidence. Even when they’re targeted. Targeted ads... get it? 😉 Grooming for ??? in the near future. Profit.
This has been debunked approximately 235,000 times already 🙄

Noticed Google's daily feed on Pixel displays atleast one entry about what i recently spoke about but am sure I didn't search for it. It's typically the last entry in the news feed.
