The man I love hates me because I’m Vietnamese
I got confirmation from recruiter that I have cleared Hiring Committee. To generate comp numbers they have asked for past 3 months salary slips and stock statement. Is it a common practice? I did not face it with Amazon. Looks very shady practice from Google. This is for Google India. YOE 5 TC 57 lpa
This is a common practice of late. Even with full time recruiters in Google. I've multiple friends who applied and were asked for Payslips and RSU proof. The only way now to negotiate with Google is using competing offers.
Pathetic. I hoped Google to be better than this. Surprisingly Amazon did not ask for this.
Agree. This is something that's specific for Indian candidates. Even recruiters based out of Singapore hiring for India roles request these. So yeah, always be interviewing with 2 companies. On the other hand, in my experience, most product startups do not ask for either.
It’s strictly forbidden by California law. Read article 432.3. On top of that, you have the legal right to ask for salary range for the position you were offered. So if you haven’t told them your expected TC, now is the time to ask for max in the range. Link: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=LAB§ionNum=432.3.
Illegal in California but probably legal in India unfortunately.
Haha yeah, I missed the Google India part 😅
It is common practice by recruiters in india
Pretty common in India with Google, MSFT, Oracle, flipkart. Amazon doesn't have a policy but some recruiters might ask.
