Applied to Oracle recently. Hiring manager told me that they don’t usually hire IC5 a - that usually you are promoted into that level. Is that accurate? TC 170k, 100 bonus, 200k RSU over 4 years
What’s your offer detail?
No
To match competing offers they hire at ic6 as well..
Take all this with a grain of salt. My info isn't the best because I think my org deflates titles and increases pay relative to other groups at Oracle. I guess his claim depends on what "usually" means. Certainly most hires don't come in at IC5, but some do. I couldn't say whether Oracle wide most people at IC5 came in that level or were promoted to it. My group is relatively new, so most people, including the IC5s are at the level they were hired. Maybe his particular org doesn't often have openings at that level.
I was hired as IC6
What is IC6?
Architect
Hired as IC5.
Years of experience?
14
It’s not a hard rule, but if it’s over 10 years, you have the experience and do well in the interview then ic 5 is possible. What’s your experience? Did you interview yet? How did you do?
BS.
