I know we have a growing user base, but I wanted to know if anyone else on here uses it. If so, what did you buy with Affirm? I've obviously used it and bought a mattress, sofa, and rug so far.
Only used it because of my employee discount 😂 I have a dentist friend who just bought a peloton with it, though.
It’s basically another tool to trap more Americans into a life of debt. You shouldn’t be using high interest loan instruments to buy consumer goods, the majority of which don’t fall in the “durable” category.
Yea pretty easy to sign up and setup auto payment. Could’ve paid in full but since it’s interest free then why not.
Does taking interest free loans eventually affect your credit score? Shows a propensity of risk.
It shouldn’t affect you unless you take out a lot. One or two won’t matter that much.
It does if the credit issuer does a hard pull originating the credit line.
lol
Used and left
Never used it. I pay for stuff in full.
the whole shtick about "honest finance" kinda doesn't apply if you have a good enough credit score. I think the blind demographic could probably churn 0% credit card offers indefinitely. only people who use Affirm on a non 0% loan are either those considered subprime, or employees dogfooding.
That’s pretty much my point, the sub-prime users are paying high interest rates on consumer goods. It’s a shiesty business.
At least they’re not being hit with compounded debt and late fees. Admittedly though that’s assuming a baseline of them having bought the stuff using a CC in the first place vs not having done so.
What happens to them when they just don’t pay? No fees, no penalties, etc?
