I have onsite interview call from cruise automation. Right now, I am an E5 at FB making about 330k TC. (5 yoe) Can cruise give significant bump? Is it worth interviewing there? I have seen a few people have left FB to join cruise. But can’t find any comp info on blind.
Their offers are very cash heavy. And they are generous. Not sure about E5 though.
If you already know that many FB engineers are joining cruise and also it's safe to assume that hardly many ppl take a pay cut to work for other companies, then the conclusion here is that cruise must be hanging out competitive offers.(until and unless you believe that your TC is way higher than others who left FB) Don't expect ballpark offer though.
What do you mean ‘don’t expect ballpark’?
It’s not many; it’s only a few engineers leaving to go to cruise as the op noted. And no cruise on average does not pay well relative to fng. They offered me $300k with cruise stock as mentioned for E5. Turn them down in 5 min as they weren’t willing to provide a strong sign on. Same with most people I know.
No they don’t pay well. Got an Offer and rejected.
What did they offer you?
We pay shitttt, don’t come
Question about the Cruise Bonus: what is the multiplier for the Bonus? If the bonus is set to 50k by the recruiter, is that the normal bonus if you perform ok? What I mean is that if you outperform, will you get 2X?
Their initial offer may or may not be high. But they would match and beat the competing ones. The final offers are usually very good, unless you don’t have any other ones.
At least the offer I got at L4 level at Cruise was pretty good: 235K base, 85K bonus, 95K RSU, 50K sign-on. So TC is 415K with nearly 80% in cash.
How was the onsite?

ByteDance is officially fucked
I know someone who interviewed there and they said that if they knew what the offer was going to be they would not have bothered. They used to give GM stock grants, and now they give Cruise stock grants, which probably makes it way less attractive.
How's pay at drive.ai
