Most of the old style buildings its True
Like which ones? They’ve been remodeling some, including 5-6, which were the first to go open something like 10 years ago now. I heard something about those little cross-shaped buildings getting knocked down, too. The buildings that still have offices are actually fairly new, like the ones near the commons, and those in Bellevue.
Some buildings do, and the newer ones don’t. Not for long though, I think they are going to renovate the entire campus to open office spaces.
Open office sucks man
Lotsa teams/orgs everyone has their own office. I would say over 50% of engineers
0 offices in the field but who needs them anyways. There are always focus rooms.
Mostly buildings 34, 35, and 36?
Not anymore I think. Satya nadella is the man!!
I think the people in Lincoln Square and the Braverns do. I’m in an open space but I like my team.
Lincoln Square has mostly open space and a few offices.
Parts of the company will always be in individual offices because the core people would quit otherwise
Our team is made of such people who you’d think would quit, but none of the discontented has, yet. After all, where are they going to go?
Yep most people at MSFT who are FTE in my org have offices. They're probably going to keep us in offices but in one of the buildings that doesn't get remodeled Disclaimer: non tech
Depends on the team and depends on how long you've been at MSFT. I know a dev 2 that has been at msft for a significant time and has an office window by himself whereas the lead on his team has a smaller office (no window) and other people with higher levels but less time in the company share offices. It's one of the ways the company tries to reward people that stay longer. However, like others pointed out, I believe that at some point we'll all move to open offices
Nope.
Too bad. Someone told me they used to be like that
Yep, used to be.
