When AMZN hit 1100 I thought "surely it can't go much higher"... but here we are at 1500... At some point their stock isn't going to have room to grow. That's certain. But what isn't certain is if it's going to grow much in the next few years, especially when we hit a market correction. Amazon gives low stock offers and low salaries compared to Microsoft for SDE2s because it assumes the stock will keep on going up indefinitely. Is it actually a smart move to join Amazon at this time? Surely it can't go up much higher.
If the market is hit, Amazon stocks will suffer most. Their P/E ratio doesn't make sense and it seems that Amazon stock is having its own bubble
Msft stock will be hit at least as much.
I had an offer from AWS when the stock was $303 😥.
Why would it matter? Just sell all and diversify on your RSU.
Agreed, everyone who has AMZN stock should sell right now. /s
Great reading comprehension. The question is "given that Amazon gives low RSUs, is it worth it to join?" NOT "oh my gawd their stock is going to implode!!"
I never once said anything about Amazon stock tanking and @aZu1 assumes that's what this post is about. That's why it's bad reading comprehension.
Nothing wrong with assuming the $ value in shares you get today will be the same in 4 years. Nobody knows what it will be and you have to figure on something.
In next few years Amazon will hit $10K
I joined at 900 a share in October. Already gained more than 50%. No regrets thus far.
The stock performance doesn’t matter at all. If you believe it’ll go up just buy their stock.
I don't think good/aapl/FB stocks have room to grow as well.. if market falls, all of them will fall as well.. I personally think Amazon has the better chance to grow amongst FAANGM stock.. if you have better offer then there is no point in joining Amazon because of their lower compensation..
Low offers? I have seen folks getting offers that 230-360 for sde2,3. It may not be highest in the market but, hey by which it is considered low?
I thought the same when it was at 600, shows what I know.
Yep. I had the chance to join Amazon two years ago and didn't take it. I would have been so much better off if I had done so
