Hello

asking with respect to System Design interview at Amazon as SWE (7 YOE). I'm planning to spend a few days to learn in depth on architecture and system design of Amazon DynamoDB. Is it worth investing the time? Does it resonate with the interview preparation?

I guess many of the ideas of DynamoDB could be reused when asked to design a distributed key value store. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Its good to understand nosql database and how do they work. But problem is if u try put some fancy words just for the sake of, anyone who has built such systems using DDB, easily can find out that u just mugged up something from web.

Imagine if u get an fat pay offer from FB after this by luck, will u be able to aurvive at that pay in fb with that knowledge

It is transferable. Most of leaderless nosql db follow the same pattern. How to replicate/ read/ write etc techniques are similar. Worth reading.
