I have a very average car ( valued at $15k ) and don't really worry about people hitting it or scratching it as it is super cheap.

I'm about to put money down on a $65k car, and this is really starting to make me think: Am I going to stop going to certain neighborhoods with the car? Will I be too paranoid to park in the store parking lot? I don't want someone's door damaging it.

Those of you with nice cars: How do you deal with this?

    Advice:

Learn from me, Don't do it.

I grew up making good money young that I threw away on various nice cars.

At LEAST lease if you must have a car.

I never owned a car worth more than 30k. It's not worth it. Buy regular car and enjoy....

I make money. I love cars. I spend my money on cars. Some people spend it on homes. Or drugs. Or booze. Everyone has a vice who cares. Your money. My luxury cars, plural, bring me joy. Besides in 10 years I’ll never get to drive anyway.

I have a pretty new 5 series. I don’t park at lots that’s too narrow. In the city I always just pay for parking garage instead of street parking. So yes it’s a pain sometimes. And sometimes you will still expect your car to be damaged. My previous 3 series was keyed by some jealous asshole in my apartment complex parking.

Had a 3 series, don’t want the same car. C class is made in US instead of Germany ffs thanks to Mercedes cost cutting. My wife told me I look like a driver when I test drove E class. 5 series is like the best mix of driving pleasure and comfort for the size and price.
