Does requesting for a salary exception put a target on your back

Got an salary exception approval from Amazon above level norm. The question is , does that put a big target on ones back during review time ? Are the expectations now super high versus coming in at a regular salary range. If one does not move to the next level soonish , do they manage out ? Thoughts?

I am sure you are getting paid average in industry with that ‘exception’. Chill out

TC and level?

no it does not. they will just not give you any raises and watch your tc come down to normal levels over time

This. You either need to get a promotion or your TC will drop after the additional stock vests

assuming I don’t get promoted after 4 years. Does HR come in and say “let’s keep this guy at TC that he was hired in” ? Or do they just not give you any stock and let you live in base (160k)
