Honestly, if you had the budget to pour tens of billions into it, Qualcomm certainly has the relevant expertise and can be very competitive. They've just decided it's better use of capital to not go down that path right now, but if push comes to shove, you'll get an alternative real quick.
Yes. As far as I know, Huawei is not the only vendor developping 5G technology. There is also Ericsson, Nokia, Oracle Comms (former Tekelec)...and some other niche companies. Huawei might be the most advanced one, but that does not mean that they are the only option.
Yes, there's at least Nokia from Finland, and Ericsson from Sweden. Both are major players.
