I’ve been meaning to do something for extra income, I thought of putting some programming tutorials up on YouTube and making ad money or maybe sell a small course on udemy.

But Salesforce is apparently very strict about you doing anything outside the company. Are most places like this?

Why the fuck should a company bother you doing your side projects in your free time? Can someone enlighten me?

Ok but somehow I don't buy the don't work on your own projects thing here.

    • You just have be smart about it. Depending on what your side-project entails it may or may not get you in trouble.

salesforce is not strict unless you go and start telling everyone around you that you’re building a competing product

  • Did you contact legal and asked them about it? Maybe it’s not legal but there is a department you can ping and they will say yes or no depending on what you want to do

I’m scared to do it because I’m wondering if it’s better to just not say anything and just do it. Coworker told me likelihood of them approving would be very low
