Doing stuff on company machine?

I sometimes use my working machine for checking personal email, Facebook, Youtube or even LC 🥲 no problem so far and this save me (and the company) lots of context switching time Anyone who has a dedicated machine for doing personal stuff care to share what should only be done on the personal machine? You should see Silicon Valley, one episode explains this perfectly.

Don’t save / visit questionable contents and you should be fine. No one cares in general. But if you are building your own product / stuff which you plan to earn revenue with in future, that you should stop doing from your company machine.

Microsoft has a clear policy - no for moonlighting (as was pointed by others in the thread), don't give a damn if you (responsibly) use laptop for personal stuff.

I don’t understand why ppl do this. When I am browsing the web in the evenings and on the weekend I really don’t wanna see my slack window, work email, docs/code I’m writing, etc.

Those devices majority of the time monitored. You never know what comes out of that data or what they use it for, just play safe and don't use it for that stuff.

I use my personal laptop to give interviews and work on some side-projects. For everything else, including watching movies I use work laptop.

Doing that during work hours gives them a reason to fire or lay you off. They know your browsing history if not more. If you can, get a personal computer.

What? Lol if a company is firing you for that GTFO asap. Aurora must be garbage culture

Not at Aurora, but a previous company I worked at fired someone. The employee was playing fantasy football too long on their computer. It was like 4 hours a day or something. They had all the evidence over a few months of them doing it during work hours. After witnessing this, I barely use my work computer even now for anything personal unless I need to.
