Hello! I need advice for an upcoming interview. I recently joined a company in the second week of April. The team is great but I don't really enjoy the work and I feel like it's not going to help me in my long-term career. I accepted it because of the 40%+ pay increase. I've continued my job search and I have an interview for another company soon - a live coding exercise on Thursday. My current resume still says 'present' but I have the new job on my LinkedIn but I did not make a post about getting the new job.
Questions:
- how should I tell my current situation with my interviewers?
- how should I change my resume for future applications? Should I have: present company: June 2021 - April 2022 or June 2021 - Present?
- should I include my current company on my resume?

Remove any reference of your new employer from your resume and LinkedIn as soon as possible, and if anyone asks just say that you want to keep that information confidential for privacy reasons until after your probation time.
If they ask, I will simply say —“I was supporting a family member with a medical condition”— which will prevent them from enquiring any further because that would be illegal.
If you don’t want to mention the word “medical” then say —“I took six months off work to learn X and Y and be ready for these interviews”—
Or, —“I took X weeks off to recover from burnout from my previous job”—
So on and so forth.
For your information, background checks are not omniscients.
Be as honest as you are comfortable with, but don’t feel like you have to give up all your personal information for a new job.
I'm not sure what I would say if they ask me: what am I doing now/where am I currently working
