What is the dress code at your firm? SF is known to be more lax than NYC, but business casual is still the norm right
What’s smart jeans, precious?
Jeans without obvious holes / rips / tears
Wow so, jeans? That’s something that needs to be specified in this day and age? Kill meeeee
Los Angeles; Suit pants, shirt, no tie, sweater, leather loafer (I guess its good to just put not running shoes) with brief case.
Best thing to do is always dress to the level of everyone else in the office, as obvious as that is
What level is that at your firm?
In London you have to wear a suit and depending on your day a tie
What IS business casual? Suits and sneakers? Jeans and sneakers? Smart trousers, polo top, boat shoes? And for women? My daily: smart jeans, polo neck jumper, blazer, shoes vary.
You wear smart pants at work!?! Tsk!
Business casual is basically a full suit without a tie, whereas for smart casual my understanding is you can swap out dress pants for jeans, wear sneakers, etc. If you work for Amazon that may explain the difference. My firm is pretty lax but I usually still go business casual most days.
