Had a 15 min introductory call a few weeks ago with a Dropbox recruiter. During the call, the recruiter said statements like "the hiring manager definitely wants to have a conversation with you" , "I'll send you a job description as soon as we're off the phone" and "send me some times that you're available for a longer chat for next week." After the call, nothing. I waited a few days and sent a polite nudge just in case they forgot - still nothing.
Looking back on the phone call, I feel the recruiter knew they didn't want to move forward with me and just lied to get me off the phone and move on. Kind of a shitty experience given how easy it is to end a conversation like this professionally, without misled expectations.
Has anyone experienced this tactic from Dropbox or other places?
