Hi!
Edit:
Update: was able to get a counter offer, and subsequently got a bit more moneys. Off to Google I go
I'm considering an offer from Google. Unfortunately I don't have counter offers yet. Plan to leave Lyft because of covid impact and potential layoffs even though I'm fairly happy here. I'm on an h1b visa, which is scarier if a layoff happens as I would have 60 days to find a job.
Current TC at Lyft: 350k, 5 yoe
Google Search T4 Offer:
Base :160k
Signon: 20k -> 30k (after negotiation)
Stock: 315k -> 340k (after negotiation)
Comes to about 283k -> 295ish (after negotiation) with 15% year end bonus
The recruiter at Google refuses to increase numbers without a counter offer. I don't want to delay this further, and the market is a little dead currently to easily shop around.
I'm wondering if I should stay at Lyft or go to safer shores at Google.
