I am a recent graduate from a QS ranking top 10 University, not stem major. I started my job as a regional sales manager in a fortune 200 Telecom company for about a month now. I am getting 50k base salary, no bonus or commission until next year since i don't have quota ATM. 401k and fully covered insurance. I accepted this offer because it didn't seem too bad for a newly graduate who didn't major in stem, but what i really wanted to get into was marketing/PR in the entertainment industry. My friend told me yesterday that my current job title has no actual benefit for my future career path because sales positions are not valuable, and my title only looks good on paper. She said i should try to get into a huge company like Disney even if it means giving up a full time job for an intern.
