EA vs Blizzard: which is the better company to work for?

I’m interested in working in the gaming industry — and I’m wondering which company is a better place to work. From friends I hear EA has better culture — is this true? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each?

I hear Riot is nice. Beware of layoffs in the game industry. Working on games in a large company may not be what you imagine.

Can confirm that Riot is nice. One downside is that the office is in the Santa Monica area so cost of living is high or you spend a lot of time commuting.

Riot is nice but don’t be fooled by the culture. Same corporate BS you’d see anywhere else. Lots of politics and it’s definitely an old boy’s club; hard to go too high up not as an original 100 employee. Plus bonus structure is not tied very closely to personal performance so little incentive to exceed (cash bonus with very small upside compared to RSUs)

Epic

Are you a bro? If you can bro-down like Bro Montana, EA is the place for you... bro.

depends a lot on location and job type... where are you and what do you do?

It depends on where you live honestly. If you live or want to live in Anaheim go with Blizzard. If you want to live in Redwood Shores, Seattle, Austin or Orlando, work for EA
