Hi, folks. I recently got offers from EA (Redwood, CA) and OCI (Seattle) and there is another option for Amazon I didn't interview with yet. Very hard to make decisions, can anyone give some suggestions? EA: SDE2 Redwood City, CA TC: 217k + 10k signon breakdown: base 150k, 15% annual bonus, rsu 135k for 3 years, signon 10k Pros: project and scope is ok, WLB, culture, TC is ok. Central tech team(not studios!) Cons: 6 month to start perm. Typically is not a tech company, concern about tech and brand name. OCI: IC-2 Seattle TC: 192k + 16.5k signon for first 2 years breakdown: base 131k, rsu 245.5k for 4 years, signon 16.5k for first 2 years Pros: TC is ok. A relatively new team will release first version of product in summer next year. 3 month to start perm faster than EA(perm process I believe is faster) Brand name. Cons: Ops for IC-2? Leadership doesnโt care about career growth for IC-2? management? scope? Slow promotion. AMZ: SDE1 in Amazon music in Bay Area. I didn't interview with them. Just put here for an option. Pros: I heard AMZ music is ok in Amazon? Cons: PIP? Toxic culture? I will say ask recruiter if you can interview for sde2 position at Amazon. It's not worth joining Amazon as sde1 given you received similar offer from EA and OCI. Amazon band cap for SF sde1 is 215k.
May I ask why most of you vote for Amazon?
I voted because I learned a lot while being at Amazon. And I believe it's a great place to grow during early stage of the career.(given you are in the right team)
Simping too much for green card will cut down on your career growth You don't seem very toxic, please don't come to Amazon. You will spoil the culture here
