Is it ethical to interview only to travel to new city?

I had an interview setup on the east coast before I had other offers I was serious about. I feel like going for the interview even though it's likely I won't join, just coz I get to travel for free. This does feel like a d*ck move to me though, and honestly, I can afford to travel by myself. What do you guys think? Should I just cancel the interview?

What is the point of wasting your time and interviewers time and the involved money?

Yes it’s ethical if you use any offer they give you for leverage to get a higher offer from the company you want to join.

This is about you, not them. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it. Enjoy.

I asked that question to some recruiters actually. The answers were mixed but in general no one said it was a bad idea. You build a connection with the company and if there is a remote chance that they can convince you than why not. Just don’t blog about it ;)
