Its unlikely to see any movement in EB2 - India category this year due to elections and less focus on S386. I am not a big fan of starting a new life altogether in Canada after spending 14 years here in the US. I feel constrained on H1b. There is always a feeling of not able to settle here due to uncertainty on H1b and going through the process of stamping / Dropbox every 2-3 years. I feel less motivated to apply for new jobs as perm, I-140 process will start again. I am.under constant pressure for not able to take risk at work due to fear of losing my job EB2 Indians - What's your plan ? #h1b #eb2India
Make baby, fast track to GC in 21 years.
I am planning to move back to either India or Singapore or Netherlands. Had enough of the visa bullshit.
SG doesn’t give PR to Indians your only option is Netherlands have to spend 5 years and clear the Dutch proficiency test
@Uber why not Canada?
What’s the wait time like if you get your PD today for Indians?
Following
Hei OP that’s means you came to around 2005 / 06 even then you didn’t get it ? Coz I know couple of folks who got it and they came around the same time as yours
He/she may have come as student. So getting a job and then filing GC and all that must have taken longer
OP must have been a student for 2 years. That makes it 12 years on H-1B. If OP received H-1B in third attempt, then that would make it 9 years on H-1B. If OP’s PERM and I-140 took about 2 to 3 years because company didn’t file it sooner or took time, then that would make it 6 years. Which means OP’s application could have gone into the GC system around 2014. You sir, just need to be able to do math.
Married, both of us on h1b, so there's that, and also both of us processing GC. The hope is that if one losses job, the other has 30 days? to find another job I guess. And if both of us have i140, the other one can get H4 EAD. Both loose the job and unable to find one, we've to go back, it's worst case scenario hopefully doesn't come to that.
Did you guys ever have hope in S386?
Same plan as EB3 folks
Applying for Canadian PR, later this year. I just started OPT, so if I get H1B might stay 2 years or so at least. My manager is fine with me transferring to Canada (in case my PR comes in) since it's the same time zone as US and our C++ teams are in CA, Portland, and Edinburgh. Will transfer or try to get into a FAANG with Canadian offices. Moving to Canada is totally on the cards, I want to gtfo and get Canadian citizenship.
Good plan. Canada is definitely a lot smarter about immigration than Uncle Sam that prioritizes family and DV.
The one and only problem with Canada is low pay +high tax
Marrying an American Citizen :)
Too late for that option
But will they marry you?
