Did anyone already receive compensation increase at Amazon? Are the rumors about TC bump real for SDEs?

    No employee existing will get that. The band tops out at 350k. The 400k offers are all exceptions out of band. And yes, that means new hires will make much more than existing hires. Yes, that’s why we’re all leaving

    Even as a new SDE II, I had to go through an exception to get 400k+. It is still considered an out of band comp, so I doubt they will adjust existing employees to that anytime soon.

    As I understand it, the changes have basically moved the base cap from 160-175k (LCOL-HCOL) to 350k. They mentioned also increasing the comp bands but not by how much. So you might get a bit more but not necessarily even 350k since that's just the max for the base.

    Essentially this just gives them control over giving out more cash and less stock especially in years 3 and 4.

      Possible, but not going to be a thing for everyone ...

      Probably a little less likely than a new 400k+ offer at L5, because they already have you.

      There is no indication how much of a TC increase there will be for existing employees.

      We're just going to have to wait and see.
