Trying to prioritize life a bit over work, I fear this can affect my career in a negative way. Anyone has experiences or can give some advice?

Current Goals are to get shredded, family & relationships, get better at investing, travel, explore various hobbies and "live life" before its too late. I'm in my early 30s, married, no kids. Feels like I didn't do much during my 20s.

Long term goals: Buy a house, have decent NW to possibly FIRE when I'm close to 45.

Constant regret when I choose life over TC: I'm not maximizing TC or LCing hard.

TC: 200k
NW: 450k (individual), 750k (family)
YOE: 6.5

      It's definitely enough to be comfortable. Far from enough to afford a house in the bay, or, raise kids. That worries us, constantly.

      At the same time, I don't want us to be just another tech parents for our kids. We want to be able to show kids what life truly is.

      Well I pieced one together with a Chinacharger, taco taco manifold, welded dp and full exhaust myself and a speeduino instead of megasquirt. Tried to keep it under $1k since the car (NB) is not worth much itself. So I definitely skimped on price too lol 😆

      ND's are beauts! Hope to get a used one down the road and Frankenstein it too!

    Hi, I'm having similar dilemma as well. I'm leaving Amazon after being burnt. I'm interviewing outside and I options between a few more chill companies vs more intensive ones with higher TC upside and I'm convinced on making a decision. If it helps, I also think prioritizing life is more important. If you work in industry, you'll be financial secure anyway

      From what I've researched: Microsoft, Salesforce, Bloomberg, adobe, other lesser known companies. I'm not talking with all of these but only some of them.

      @F5 I'm still considering my options tbh. I've yet to know the exact teams for some of the companies I'm talking with. Once I have those I'll look at what really excites me. Tbh I'm looking at the the chiller option rn but it might change.

      Well kinda. I've personally not enjoyed Amazon but I've learnt things about myself actually. What I value etc. I've also been unhappy so I know money has limited ability in making you happy which is why I'm not as obsessed with it. I also got a surprising number of companies reach back to me so I'm fortunate that I have that rn so when I choose my next option I really don't care about the prestige about the company. (many people seem to care about that)
