Anyone has had EM role interview at upstart to share his/her experience? What kind of coding questions are asked? What kind of probability/statistics question?
My interview is for ML EM role, and the really nice recruiter said it will be both technical and managerial.

Any share of experience will be appreciated.

  • Is this an EM role on the ML team or on one of the eng teams which serves ML? There are both.

    • I'm not a SWE ML or on the panel. But I've heard the interview process described, and I don't remember hearing about any stats or probability. I know there's system design, a coding "project" that you do in an interview and some coding questions. I've never heard of that team using statistics or probability either, so it seems weird that would be on the interview.

  • Tyson, it's more of a real world type question. I think it's a super lightweight web app for some parts of eng, but I don't know what SWE ML does.
