Fortunate enough to have received a new grad full-time offer at all three of these companies, curious what would be the best move long-term. If anyone has worked at either of these companies any insight would be much appreciated. Offer details below: Amazon - SDE 1 * TC: 165k Y1, \~150k Y2-4 * Location: Seattle * Misc: Returning intern, so I know my manager is chill, working on retail not AWS Akuna Capital - Junior Python Dev * TC: 200k Y1, \~170k afterwards (variable bonus depending on performance) * Location: Chicago * Misc: Haven't worked in a trading firm before, not sure how easy it is to go back to a tech company afterwards. Hubspot - SWE * TC: 130-150k (don't have paperwork yet) * Location: Boston * Misc: Great culture, and personally went to school in Boston so I like it a lot #offer #tech #newgrad
Been with two, HubSpot is the best for human life but Amazon will give better career upsides for SWE.
Do either amazon or akuna for a year. It will be hard but once u leave you’ll be better for it.
Chicago way cheaper than Boston or seattle so ur money goes the furthest
Go to amazon and learn. 20k diff pretax is literally nothing. Will open more doors at amazon and that is probably worth way more when u look for jobs at e4-5 in 3-4 yrs
HubSpot probably won't pay a new grad SWE 150k
I’ve worked at Akuna and it is very very toxic, expect to be over worked and have no life. You’ll do 10+ hour work days, rush to do code changes just to have it rolled back the day it was deployed day after day.
What role?
Everything iManage told holds good for Amazon as well
