Recently joined Uber as L4, can anyone please share scope of work for each level and what is expected to get a promotion in upcoming year or so?

Having difficulties with navigating in bigger company, joined from small startup where you are responsible for everything and can ship code anytime, instead of writing ERDs and getting approval. Do not want to look stupid in front of team, asking here to get tips and tricks.

There’s an entire internal doc explaining the expectations for each level…

yes, but I want to get people's opinion. When I read document I understand things based on my own limited knowledge and experience, more experienced people might see framework differently and they might have better insights, hence the question is asked here

Hi! As an L4, you are expected to work on big chunks of major projects independently. You will probably write ERDs in collaboration or might be writing independently for smaller projects. An L4 is not expected to be completely independent so I'm sure there will be folks from your team helping you out. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Competencies are pretty clear, in my opinion

Promotion will be straightforward if you ensure there is documented evidence to prove each line item

This advice applies to every level: have ownership of the product, always come with ideas to improve it, ask as much as you need to understand as quick as possible.
