There’s a ton of pages/videos/blogs claiming that Tesla Cars are overpriced garbage.

Manufacture quality is bad, Autopilot doesn’t really work well and the charge is not that convenient. I wanted a Tesla so bad but I am not sure now if I want to spend ~60k in something that is not really good.

Still, there’s a lot of hard die fans of Tesla. What do you think blinders?

    Have a model Y. Are they are great as people say? No. Are they as bad as people say? No. Still one of the best cars I’ve owned. No regrets here.

      Tesla is more fun than the S3, feels so much faster with equivalent handling. Although I did love the S3. Quality wise it’s on par with the Q5 and X3 but not as nice as the RDX or X5.

      There's a few downsides- suspension, phantom braking for starters, but absolutely love our model Y.

    Overpriced and somewhat overrated but it’s fun to drive and preserves its value better than pretty much any car so I guess I can’t say it’s overpriced. It’s gone up like 5k since I bought it. The EV competition is pretty bad and the few good ones are much more expensive (lucid). No other company has the supercharger network that makes it easy to drive anywhere

      My 12 year-old car cost me $4,650 five years ago, it's gone up by $1k (20%!!). 2nd hand car prices over the past 2 years have nothing to do with inherent value and everything to do with chip shortages

  • No, they’re not a scam, but they’re not the godlike mechanical masterpieces that some people paint them as.

    The tech is nice, the infotainment system is world class, the build quality is decent, and the driving experience is good. They are good cars, but they are not leaps and bounds above the competition.

      Agree with everything you say except for the competition - if we’re talking about electric cars they are substantially better. Better battery, better tech, better charging network.
