Check the contribution limits and the discount. At LI we can contribute up to 15% of salary, get a 10% discount .. and the legal cap is 25k. So at most to can get 10% of 25k, which is money but not enough to make a big deal out of it. Depending on the company discount it might be worth more, but .. probably not enough to tilt the scale on way out the other if that's the only difference between 2 offers
Nope! ESPP is investment decision. If I consider that in my tc I might as well consider the $$ dream I have to earn from stock market each year as well.
Espp main benefit comes from market ups and downs, you are buying at the lower price plus a discount.
I have been to companies who’s price dropped even below the ESPP discounts same day and if you are working for a company, more often than not you are subject to selling freeze window which makes it harder to sell at right times. So I would judge that as any other investment options I have and use or not use it based on my goals etc.
Do the math. ESPP is nice but doesn’t give much of a bump to TC
