I’ll like to invest into ETF and I’m going for Boglehead Three Fund Portfolio (US, International market and US bond). I want to use Robinhood because of its easy setup and I’m familiar with it. Is there any reason for me to choose investment companies instead?
none whatsoever
FWIW, open an account that allows an IRA. Use IRA funds to purchase this apparent long term ETF holding. RH doesn’t have this. Also make sure the account doesn’t charge fees for a minimum balance. Vanguard does below $10k.
That's false, Vanguard doesn't charge anything if you enroll for electronic pdfs
Defending Vanguard is a religion to some. I loathe being dragged into someone’s holy war. My statement isn’t “false”. It’s stated on their site. That they provide you a way around it doesn’t not negate the act. Some people may not want PDF delivery. https://investor.vanguard.com/investing/account-fees
Unclear from the answers the cons of using Robinhood for buying ETFs. Robinhood let's you buy/sell ETFs without a fee, correct?
Cons are they are lending securities left and right, and buying etf doesn't let you invest 100% of your actual money unlinke mf
I had vanguard and moved to RH. The app and web page is just so much better
