Hi, I’m an immigrant based in EY USA (NYC). And planning to switch to either EY Canada or EY Australia in the coming few months for visa related reasons. In terms of career growth, compensation, cost of living, lifestyle, job market, etc which is a better country to immigrate to? TIA.
Make it a poll
Canada is a much better market than Australia.

Both are terrible in terms of job opportunities, COL and taxes. Weather is great in AU, but it comes with the benefit of the company of all the deadly reptiles as they also love the sun. In Canada you should fall in love with Netflix or winter sports.
OP Fishbowl is a better place to ask :)
How many years in EY ?
2.5 years
If returning to US in future is a consideration, I'd steer you towards Canada. Easier process with TN/L1 and generally North American work exp is consistent. Payscale will be lower in both places and taxes higher- Canada may be a somewhat bigger market but the cities in Aus are more interesting with better weather. I say this as someone that has worked for EY in US and Canada and also traveled for business across Australia. Also as someone said, post in Fishbowl and you will get many more relevant perspectives.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Do you know if EY would help you with L1 if you’re planning on coming back to the US from Canada? And do you have to be of a manager level in order to get your L1 transfer?
Yes and yes
🙁 I’m only a Senior. Do you think they would be open to letting me try for the next H1B lottery ?
Go to Canada. Get your citizenship there and use the tn visa to work in the US, if being in the US is your goal.

'Hindutva': The Radical Hindu Ideology That Seeks to 'Push Christianity Out of India’
which part of Canada and which part of AUS
Vancouver - Sydney
I've been to both. although I spent a lot more time in Sydney. I can't speak on which is better in terms of career growth but as far as which city I liked better, it was Sydney. Sydney's weather is humid tho so that can kind of suck. Beaches are beautiful tho, good food, the city is very nice as well and a good amount of things to do
