A friend referred me for a role of a Manager with FSO PI consulting. I interviewed with a couple of Senior Managers and one Partner. My initial interviews went well with little to no technical questions. However, the partner asked me a whole bunch of questions related to loan specific processes. My response was not great and I knew I was missing a lot of the process details while explaning. Overall, I didn't think the interview went well. However, EY came back and now they are trying to setup final round interview, an in person, 30 min at a local office. I am supposed to meet a senior manager again. The friend who referred me thinks I should get an offer. However after all these interviews, I am suspecting that they may try to low-ball me and offer a Sr Consultant role. Anyone has any experience interviewing and negotiating with EY? Any suggestions in terms of how to prepare myself for a conversation?
They pay well for the skill set though
Don’t join big four
How many years of experience have you got?
10 years. 7 years in wholesale banking, 2 years in payments, and 1 year in post-grad PE Research.
With 10 years you could aim for senior mgr, although the promotion from mgr to sr.mgr is considered the toughest in the org.
Sr consultant are for anybody less than 3 yoe. If you are over that, you should definitely aim for manager level.
I've the same understanding. I hear that they don't onboard from industry with the Sr manager title. I wanted to negotiate for that at the beginning, but my friend (referral) recommended that I try for Manager since that's more attainable.
If consulting, they dont like to hire at mgr level. Big four pay outside of bay is decent. But if your longterm goal is partner then pay is as good as it gets. But most people dont make it or realize they prefer other jobs
I'm interviewing for Manager in NYC. Thanks for your comment.
How did it go?
By working for EY you get low balled by default
Good point. Why people still go there, I will never get. The "big 4" are tier 3 companies
Not everyone wants to work at tech!
