Crazy... Do you think most financial institutions are still pretty backward? Truly sad to hear. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/women-ernst-young-how-to-dress-act-around-men_n_5da721eee4b002e33e78606a
This was an insane read. I can’t believe this a reality for a firm like EY in this day and age.
Disagreeing here. As a firm you cannot differentiate male and female when both are doing the same job for you. EY should have been professional enough to never have encourage such event. Now some of their own female boss would take the fall to save company's face.
Not sure about this. We can’t pretend there are no genders. Whether physiological or cultural differences exist why not take advantage of them? I’d value constructive advice targeted for men
This is not typical of EY.
Agreed. I’ve actually heard of great initiatives like Girls Who Code and city based women events, but not this crap. I’m so sorry this was even being offered ever.
I mean the oldest part of the firm dates back to 1849 and accounting in its nature likely attracts fairly conservative folks.
When I worked there, women had to wear skirts and nylons....and could only wear the colors black, navy and grey....this was 1995, I see much hasn’t changed.
This is awful
If someone gave me this advice I would laugh in their face. This is the opposite of how you make it to the top.
My firm has dress code for both men and women
I would rather men not wear dresses
Whoa a dress code
Who would have guessed.
What the hell? This was so painful to read. When did this presentation take place exactly?
