Early retirement career advice

I’m 36, retired for a couple of years and I’m bored. I don’t need to work but I definitley want to. Give me ideas on what I should do. Humourous trolling is a-ok! Right now I’m working in a Startup as a co-founder but I don’t need to spend more than 15 hrs a week. I volunteer for a couple of organizations (10-20 hrs a week). Rest of my time is spent talking to people, advising startups & founders, attending events, socializing etc. I’ve travelled. I’ve done the whole go to a foreign land and enjoy life etc but after a few months, I get bored. Background: I’ve done the whole 20 hr work days (#finance ). Went into #consulting which was exciting for a few years. I have a pretty big investment portfolio which is my source of income. Skills: Coding is rusty but solid. Can #leetcode medium no problem. Analytics skills are much better. Strong finance background.

It’s great that u r putting time to give back to the community! If u r just bored, don’t need to make money but want to make an impact, there are many routes to go. For example, u could work towards solving world hunger problem. Nothing major, just look in current agricultural practices mainly in developing countries n find smart ways to upgrade the technology. Brainstorm ideas for less wastage, more crop, stuff like that.

Can I ask what's the range you retired on?

FormFactor Tove1 Dec 30, 2019

Open a youtube channel and teach how to combine finance with coding or something like that

What do you do? Do you find it fulfilling to actually go to work?

What was your corpus by the time you decided to retire? Do you live in the Bay Area?

Body? I’ve never heard corpus used in this context? Was in Bay Area for only 4 yrs. Now back to NYC.

Wells Fargo qUyB01 Dec 31, 2019

Sorry 😂 in finance a corpus refers to a set or total assets. In other words what was your net worth when you decided to retire?

Humble brag.

Try VC or PE firms. Might be a good retirement job.

Do you mind sharing your story? I would love to learn what you did so I can get to a position like yours, retired early and all? For me, I have so many things I want to do, getting better at a sport, making videos of my travels so I can look back and appreciate my time, helping close friends and family to get better in their lives (educational advice, career advice) among many other things. If you haven’t, I’m sure you can try that. Maybe something cool for public display: acting, dancing, singing, etc

Mentor young people and help them with career, and advise on how they too can retire early! I would personally love some tips. Career coaches are very needed, and you can do it pro bono for those who can't afford it (because it can get pricey!)
