We are planning to buy a home in the next few months and are leaning towards a single family home (~900k) in the Renton Highlands area. Home is zoned to Issaquah SD and wife works in this area. I would like to hear any inputs/experience on 1. Renton highlands area in general 2. Commute to and from Amazon SLU campus Thanks
First answer was right on - it's not fun, especially if you have to be in the office at peak hours. The more flexibility (obviously varies by team) in schedule, the better and more sane you'll be.
Your commute will be an hour each way. If you take Amazon Ride bus, it will at least make the commute easier because there is WiFi but you're still looking at an hour in the mornings and an hour to 1.5 hours in the evening.
Thank you. The 1 to 1.5 hour window for the return commute - is that bcos of I-5 Southbound traffic in the evenings?
Yes but can also depends what building you work in. Leaving Doppler anytime after 4 will mean 1.5 - 2 hours to get home if you drive in and commute is relatively same whether you take the 90 to 405 or I-5. If you take the Amazon ride bus, it will leave from Doppler and then Brazil but it always goes I-5 southbound.
