Hello Team Blind. I am looking to switch job areas and have been invited for my final round with Amazon for a L6 Operations manager position in Southern CA. I have not had any discussion regarding salary and am curious the kind of TC and breakdown this position can expect. 17 yoe (8 related), MBA, 5 years management.

Thank you everyone!

    Just left as a L6 TPM3/Ops manager.

    1st year bonus: 25K
    2nd year bonus: 25K
    - both amortized over the 1st and 2nd yrs
    RSU: 75

OPM =/= Ops manager. OPM is a program management role and if coded as a TPM, gets tech pay. Ops manager runs around a warehouse all day and gets pretty much the lowest possible L6 pay at Amazon.

Ok first off, that fact that you moved to final Loop without having a comp discussion is a concern (both you and your recruiter, that should not happen). Fulfillment/Distribution/Sort etc centers have a different pay scale. Tech and Non-Tech also have a different pay scale. Fulfillment Ops Managers are L6 on scope and level of authority, but won’t be in the same L6 payband as someone in a corporate role. Part of the L6 is the sheer scale of the team/operation you’ll manage. Non-tech Corp TTC band for L5 IC is 120- 160, L6 IC is 150 - 220, L7 IC is 200 - 300. For people managers or a tech role add 20-30k for each level. Product Manager = Tech, Program Manager = Non-Tech. Devs have their own band and path, Sales has their own Bonus structures. Different subsidiaries have leveling, vesting and banding that vary from Amazon proper. Cap on base comp is $165k. Even Jeff. (NYC, and Bay Area I believe cap at $185k). Everything else in TTC is sign on or stock. TTC falls off the wagon after Y4. Refresh grants typically are not enough to keep you at your initial TTC.
