I have ebay onsite scheduled soon and would like to know what to expect over there. I'm still a new grad who just graduated a week ago and they're recruiting me for SDE-3 Position. Recruiter told me to expect 5-6 hour of interview. Can anyone tell me their experience? Also what leetcode level shall I expect over there? Any design questions?
Job profile doesn’t necessarily mean you will be hired at that level. If hired, most likely you will be leveled at se-2.
Thanks for responding. So should I prepare according to Se-2 on Glassdoor? I wanted wanted to know about the difficulty level I would be asked during my interviews. Also recruiter specified 5-6 hours so Shall I expect atleast 5 tech rounds?
I don’t think interviews are any different for se-2 vs se-3. It also depends a lot on the team. And usually it’s 5 rounds
If you're a new grad, you'll probably be interviewed at and SE2 level. Did you already make it passed the phone screen interview? What was the problem you were given for that (might say something about what level you being considered for)
Interesting. That sounds more complex than what I give SE2 folks. If you don't mind me asking, do you know what team?
Dmed you.
Run other way when it comes to eBay
I am at the end of maze, no way out from here. Only have few calls before ai join a no name company.
Oh my. Ok then I get your predicament
It’s flexible actually. If you do really really good and you have an competitive offer with other company, they may upgrade you to sde3 but as others mentioned generally new grads sde2 position. The interviewer assess you for the level also during interview. Generally Leetcode easy and medium should be good enough!
I did really well during my phone interview and got onsite the next day itself. I have a offer from east coast as I'm from here itself not sure if this counts as competitive offer (75k at No name company ) Any particular fav topics to consider?
It depends on the interviewer.. topics are hard to guess.. but for recent grad it’s mainly DS and algorithms only
Thanks for the info! 👍🏻
? New grad? sde3? You a PhD? I worked there and masters students with no experience were SDE2. Their SDE1 questions were mind numbingly easy
No I just have a masters degree with no experience in Software Engineering before. Even I'm confused why they gave me a job description for SDE-3 role. Can they downlevel me after interviewing me onsite?
No idea, never had to worry about that. Did they explain why? Their recruiters are sometimes not the best
