Choose Discovery inc?

Guys, i worked at Expedia previously and in a London bank now due to covid. I want to enter ott space and keen to see the opportunities ahead as almost all brands are now in OTT. Recently finished a full loop at Discovery incs DTC, discovery plus and would like to ask media veterans on any inputs around Discovery, it's prospects and atleast my chance if going to other companies after acquiring good OTT experience?#entertainment #media #streaming

    WLB is great. I’ve been full time remote and will continue to do so. Engineering driven and we observe twice the holidays compared to Amazon (I’m in greater Seattle area).

      Just the same that I asked earlier. How will be work experience in OTT..is it technically challenging and scope for learning and be in the latest tech space, good enough for a future jump to any of the faangs. I see all FAANG have some OTT presence and really looking to choose the path forward. I am working temporarily in a bank but had worked in Expedia earlier.

      Make the switch to Discovery, early signs of Discovery+ success are looking good.

      Ask for more bonus IMO due to lack of stock component (well you get your bonus in cash or 15% discounted shares) but most companies give you both stock and cash refreshers.

      I’m just hoping to be on the ground floor of a success story as stock price for Discovery is quite low right now.

  • Leadership change is a good signal that things are changing but of course not for too long. Have you worked there or any known network s direct experience? I am doing more crappy work now I feel in terms of migration..so think atleast steaming and OTT is a good escape

      It’s better than what you shared you’re doing. Make the switch. Culture is engineering performance and empathy driven. They’re known to promote from within.

      I’ve been here a year and was at Amazon before this. My comp is comparable but of course Amazon stock has doubled so not in hindsight.
