I have 15 years of experience as a production manager for film and TV, and while I understand that a PM role in tech is a different ballpark , I feel like there are intrinsic similarities and skills that can be leveraged (production schedules, deadlines, people and personality management, translating from creative to business to crew/engineers)
I also have spent an additional 3 years in a similar role but in the public sector - managing film and print activations from a municipality’s perspective.
Would it be possible to leverage this experience in my favor with the right training? (If so - what should I target) Or should I expect to start from 0 like any new person to the field?
Would it be best to target film/tv companies (Netflix/Hulu/Disney) with my background, or would my inherited experience be easy to apply to any tech company?
Thoughts/recommendations greatly appreciated!

Not sure if your particular background will really give you an advantage at Netflix/Hulu/etc - at the end of the day they're tech companies, and tech roles there have very few if any touch points with film/tv production.
That’s a heck of an experience
