Do you respond to all the emails/linked msgs you get from recruiters? Or you just ignore if you are not in the market.
May or may not accept the LinkedIn invite but I respond to every LinkedIn message. You never know when who will help you find your next dream job!
if it seems like they copy pasted the same note to 1000 people i ignore
if they show evidence of actually looking at my past work, i respond
Only respond if it’s a well known/top tier company in general. Exceptions made for those that have reviewed my previous work and give the impression they’ve researched me a bit
I always figure the recruiters just want to access my contact list. I'm in management and figure they're more interested in my millennial devs than gen x me.
I usually never respond but the last time but the last time I did, I got a full time job. I always kindly reply thanks but no thanks. But this time I didn’t, I asked for remote work and a ridiculous salary. And the recruiter sent me back a reply and actually said the position paid more. Well 3 months later I got hired at an even hire salary than expected. I know this is not the norm but you never know what that boiler plate email might bring...
Ignore it. Most is form letter crap.
