Just tossing a line out. SO's looking to get her foot in the door within any technical industry and has been having a rough time finding work in the Austin area. Having picked up and moved here recently I don't have the professional network pool to assist with job hunting. Trying to find anything though indeed and kelly services has been soul crushing. She's 3/4ths of the way through with an CS degree, ideally the position would be entry level and mostly to build professional experience. I was thinking a help desk-ish role would be a great fit. Any recommendations would be appreciated!
Don't work on a help desk with a CS degree
Well, it's difficult to get your foot in the door if you haven't completed your degree. Likewise her development experience isnt what I would consider to be junior level yet. Some work experience anywhere is better than nothing.
Go work at oracle as a sales consultant. Somewhat technical role
Sounds like internships would be the best for her atm? I second avoid help desks, swe internships are always paid and they will help land better opportunities when she graduates.
Try a QA role at a startup. The QA manager at WP Engine is cool. Just go to meetups at Capital Factory, there’s always folks hiring.

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
